In 2018, the CTMSS administration led by J.N Ofori Addo (CTMSS Executives, 2018-2019) with the support of Prof. BK Baiden (the Head of Department) established Women in Construction (WiC). Knowing that only a small fraction of the Construction Technology and Management Department (CTM) and the entire construction industry as a whole were women, WiC was established to create a support network for women learning and working in a male-dominated field. In addition, it was established to provide avenues for women in the CTM department to expand their understanding and interest in the respective construction programs they are pursuing. Today, Women in Construction has become successful in achieving the mission of championing women to impact the direction of the construction industry. Occasionally, seminars are organized and respected women in the industry are invited to interact and empower the young ladies in CTM. Currently, Dr. Barbara is the club's patron.

WiC is still efficient because it is well supported by most if not all women in the department. WiC continues the vision of providing professional development, education, networking, leadership training, and more opportunities for its members.

Our Core Purpose: Increasing the number of female students in the CTM Department, as well as strengthening and enhancing the success of women in the CTM Department and in the general construction industry.
