ABOUT US
The Ghana Institute of Construction Student Society (GIOCS) is the student body wing of the Ghana Institute of Construction (GIOC). GIOC, established in 1994 as the Ghana Institute of Builders and re-launched in 2013, is the premier professional organization for construction professionals in Ghana. GIOCS provides a platform for students pursuing careers in the construction industry to engage with industry professionals, participate in relevant training, and transition smoothly into their professional roles.
AIM
Our aim is to foster a robust network among construction students and professionals, whilst providing educational and professional development opportunities for the students, as well as bridging the gap between academic and industry practice
OBJECTIVES
Promotion of Science and Practice: To advance the science and practice of building and construction management.
Public Education: To enhance public education on building and construction through research and the publication of findings.
High Standards: To establish and maintain high standards of competence and conduct among those engaged in the construction industry.
Professional Linkages: To create strong connections with professional bodies, educational institutions, and government agencies to ensure effective coordination and understanding in the construction sector.
Student Transition: To facilitate the transition of student members to full professional members of GIOC.
