BSc. Construction Technology and Management

Undergraduate Degree
4 Years (8 Semesters)

Students are required to take 63 compulsory modules relevant to the award of BSc. Construction Technology and Management. These are structured such that eighteen (18), sixteen (16), sixteen (16) and thirteen (13) modules are taken in the first, second, third and fourth years respectively. During their final year, the candidates undertake a course module which simulates a real life project and requires them to bring to bear their knowledge acquired throughout their study to address the challenges of the project. Candidates also undertake independent research projects during the period of their final year and produce a report for the research undertaken.

To qualify for the award of BSc. Construction Technology and Management students are required to pass all courses and complete a total of 148 credit hours.

Cut-off Aggregate

The minimum aggregate used to select candidates for a programme of study, within the minimum entry requirements of aggregate 24, is the Cut-off Aggregate. The Cut-off Aggregate is not predetermined; it may vary from year to year, based on the pass rate and the available space/resources for a programme.

WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

Candidates must have credits in three (3) Core Subjects at SSS level: English language, Integrated Science and Mathematics and credits in THREE (3) Elective subjects according to the following combinations:

Group A: Mathematics and any TWO (2) of these subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction.

 OR

 Group B: Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction

 GCE ‘A’ LEVEL Applicants

Candidates must have Five (5) credits at the Ordinary level in the GCE including English, mathematics and a science subject (Physics, chemistry or general sciences). In addition, applicants must normally have three (3) passes at the Advanced level in GCE according to the following combinations:

 Group A: Mathematics and any TWO (2) of these subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics

 OR

 Group B: Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction

Mature Applicants

Applicants must have attained the age of 30 years at the time of submitting the application

At least FIVE (5) credits at the Ordinary Level in the GCE including English Language, Mathematics and a science subject (Physics, Chemistry or General Sciences).

 OR

 Higher National Diploma (HND) in building technology or allied courses.

Candidates graduating with a BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics have a wealth of opportunities open to them in terms of employment. These graduate can find employment in various sectors of the economy including but not limited to;
